Our History
From a cricket ground in DHA to Karachi's most complete sports & leisure club — 35 years in the making.
The Stadium is Born
Southend Club was established as a cricket stadium in DHA, Karachi. The ground immediately began hosting first-class cricket matches, laying the foundation for one of Pakistan's finest sports destinations.
New Management Takes Over
The current management assumed control with a clear mission: to promote sports across Pakistan and elevate the standard of facilities to international level.
Pakistan vs Zimbabwe — Historic Test Match
Southend Club earned full international status hosting the first-ever Test match between Pakistan and Zimbabwe (1–6 Dec 1993). Waqar Younis took 7–91 and 6–44, becoming Pakistan's youngest ever Test captain. Pakistan won by 131 runs.
CCP Academy Established
The Cricket Centre Pakistan (CCP) Academy was founded to develop young cricketers under Test and First-class player guidance. Graduates have toured England, South Africa, Malaysia, France, Belgium, Netherlands and the UAE.
Transformation into a Full Club
The cricket stadium was transformed into a full-fledged sports and recreation club. Southend Club now serves over 2,000 member families with tennis, squash, swimming, a gym, fine dining, and 5-star accommodations.
Expanding & Hosting International Fixtures
The club added its own power generation and world-class facilities. International women's cricket, ACC Emerging Teams matches, and the Over-40 T20 World Cup (2023–2025) have all been hosted here.
